During the Civil War, Edward enlisted as Private on 9/2/1861 in Company K~3rd Infantry
Regiment Florida and transferred on 7/1/1864 to Company A~6th Infantry Regiment Florida. Paroled on
5/16/1865 at Tallahassee Florida. Described as having dark complexion, grey eyes, dark hair and 5‘11” tall.
