Several years after his wife's death, Henry S. Halley Jr. visited his two sons,
J. Alfred and Dr. H. Joseph Halley in Missouri and died at Alfred's home on 6 Sep 1872. He was buried in Salt Pond
Baptist Cemetery, Saline Co. Mo., since transportation of the deceased back to Virginia was not practical in those
days. Unfortunately, the Salt Pond Cemetery is almost completely destroyed now and only about four or so tombstones
are left, Henry's is not one of them. |
