Notes for JOSEPH HENRY SIMPSON:
Called "Joseph Hamilton Simpson" in family bible. In "Gwinnett Co., Georgia Deaths 1818
- 1989" , edited by Alice Smythe McCabe, note saying that he died of typhoid.
DEATH OF JOSEPH H. SIMPSON - Mr. Joseph
H. Simpson died last Thursday about noon at his father's home near Norcross
after a long struggle with typhoid fever. He had been at the border of
death for several days and while his relatives and friends were prepared for
the worst, his death brought sorrow to the hearts of hundreds of his
acquaintances who enjoyed his friendship and who knew his many virtues. The
deceased was a son of Mr. W. R. Simpson and was one of the brightest young men
of the county. He was a lawyer by profession and practived law in
Lawrenceville during the year 1894 and while here gained the friendship of our
best citizens, who heard of his untimely death with moistened eye and sorrowful
heart. In the death of our friend, Gwinnett Co. has lost one of her most
promising young men, and we join with many of our citizens in extending our
sympathy to the bereaved in this sad affliction. (source - The Gwinnett
