William Pitts (22 Oct 03-17 Feb 1986)
was born in Colquitt County around Tichnor. He worked on the farm and helped
in the sawmill and turpentine still there. He and one of his brothers Alvin
spent a year touring the country as a hobo before he settled down and joined
the Marines and Army Air Force. He spent nine years in the military and
married Nona Alice Simpson (20 Mar 1924). Together they raised eleven
children. Ruby Annette (14 Dec 1943) married Jimmie Dewey Morris and have four
children; Jacqueline, Jimmie, Donnie and Tony. Jerry Wayne (22 Nov 1945)
married Lita and have one daughter Nona. William Jennings Jr.(20 Oct 1947)
married Catherine David and had one son William Jennings III. William Jennings
Jr. also married Pamela and have one daughter Abigail. Roy Alvin (23 April
1949) married Sherrie Gossett and have two daughters Amanda and Ashley. Wilma
Francine (03 Dec 1950) married Donnie Carroll Griner and had two children
Melissa Francine and Donnie Kevin. Leon Milton (26 Dec 1952) married Janie
Perkins and have three sons Milton, Will, and Weyman. Kathy Janis (05 Oct
1955) married Ronnie Simms and had one daughter Michelle. Randy Bert (14 Sept
1957) married Jo Wagner and had one son Greg. Winona (26 Nov 1959) married
Barry Holton and had two children Shawn and Brandy. Rufus ( 06 Feb 1963)
married Lisa Spradley and have three children Danielle, Rachel, and Jay.
Ronald Wade (17 Oct 1964) married Kim Sangster and had one son Brandon.
