Will of John H. Simpson

I, John H. Simpson, of the County of Caswell and State of N. C., being of
feeble health but of sound mind and memory and being desirous to make some
disposition of the goods it has pleased God to bless me with, Do make this my
last Will and Testament.
1st. I give to my wife EDNA SIMPSON, during her natural life the land on which
I now live containing 570 acres with all of the stock, household and kitchen
furniture, and at her death I wish the perishable property equally divided
between my three sons, RICHARD B. SIMPSON, FRANCIS M. SIMPSON, JAMES O.
SIMPSON, and my daughter, FRANCES T. SIMPSON.
2nd. I will and bequeath to my three sons, Richard B. Simpson, Francis M.
Simpson, and James O. Simpson, and their lawfully begotten heirs forever the
tract of land on which I now live on the special trust if either should die
without lawful issue then their portion is to revert to the others. I wish the
land equally divided as follows: Francis M. Simpson to have his portion on the
Southern part, Richard B. Simpson the middle portion, and James O. Simpson the
northern portion including the house in which I now live.
3rd. I will and bequeath to my son, James O. Simpson, one horse, one mahogany
bureau and my Family Bible.
4th. I will to my daughter, Frances T. Simpson, the tract of land known as the
TAYLOR TRACT containing 35 acres and one sewing machine.
5th. I will that my three sons, Richard B. Simpson, Francis M. Simpson, and
James O. Simpson pay my granddaughter, ELIZABETH B. BARKER, one hundred
dollars.
6th. I nominate and appoint Francis M. Simpson Executor of this my last Will
and Testament. As witness my hand and seal this 8th day of June A. D. 1889.
