IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I, Thomas Lucas of Fairfax County in the Commonwealth of Virginia being in bodily Health and of sound mind and memory, do make this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following.

IMPRIMIS, I devise to my son THOMAS LUCAS and to his Heirs forever two tracts of Land containing five hundred and fifty acres, more or less, lying on the northeast side of North West Branch of CAPE-FEAR River in the County of Bladen, and state of North Carolina, both which Tracts descended to me as Heir at Law to my Brother JOHN LUCAS deceased, which said two tracts of land I devise to my said son Thomas Lucas & his Heirs upon this express condition that he or they convey in fee simple to my Grandson HENRY LUCAS (son of FRANCIS LUCAS) a Tract of Land which I made my said son Thomas a Deed for lying on DONAHOE's CREEK in Bladen County aforesaid, on the South side of the North West Branch of Cape-Fear River; he my said son Thomas having the Liberty to retain ten acres of the said last mentioned Tract at the lower end thereof.

ITEM, I give and bequeath to my Grandson THOMAS GARRETT, after my wife's Death, or marriage, one feather Bed & Furniture, one Cow & Calf, my Silver watch, and my Gun.

ITEM, all the Rest & residue of my Estate, real and personal, after payment of my just Debts, I give to my wife ELENER LUCAS during her widowhood, and at her marriage or Death to be equally divided in fee simple among all my Children which shall be living at that time except that my Daughter, TILLAT POWELL's part or proportion of the same shall be equally divided between her two sons, FRANCIS & THOMAS POWELL & their Heirs.

LASTLY, I nominate and appoint my wife Executrix and my son Thomas Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all others by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the 21st day of August Dom. 1791.

On the motion of JAMES SANGSTER and BENJAMIN BURKE administrators of RICHARD SIMPSON deceased, it is ordered that JOHN ARUNDELL, ROBERT RATCLIFFE, FRANCIS COFFER and THOMAS COFFER or any three be and they are hereby appointed to settle the estate account of the said THOMAS LUCAS deceased with the adminors of the said RICHARD SIMPSON deceased and make report to the Court.

In obedience to an order of the County Court of Fairfax dated February 21st 1820 & hereunto annexed we the Subscribers therein named and appointed Commissioners, to settle the Estate account of THOMAS LUCAS deceased with RICHARD SIMPSON his admr have examined the within account to us presented by JAMES SANGSTER and BENJ BURKE admrs of RICHARD SIMPSON deceased & having duly examined and compared the same with the vouchers therefore to us exhibited, we find the same correctly stated. We further find that RICHARD SIMPSON has paid to several of the legatees the sum herein stated as appears from the receipts and accounts to us produced which said several sums being more than they were entitled to, we have refused to allow these admrs any thing more than such sum we have found to be due them. Given under our hands this 25th Feby 1820

This estate account of THOMAS LUCAS deceased with JAMES SANGSTER and BENJAMIN BURKE administrators of RICHARD SIMPSON who was administrator of the said THOMAS LUCAS deceased was presented to the Court and the same having been duly examined by the Commissioners appointed for that purpose and again by the Court is allowed and ordered to be recorded.
