James and Jennie lived at Tundergarth Castle on the River Milk in Annandale, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. After
James was killed, Jennie feared the same fate would befall her only son, John, so she sold the Johnston lands in Scotland and
purchased vast lands in both County Fermanagh and County Tyrone, Ireland. She removed from Annandale, Scotland to Ireland in 1602.
